Practice English and French with your Lingua Bud (Pratiquez l'anglais et le français avec votre Lingua Bud)

Tips to help you start out with your new Lingua Bud:

Follow the conversation below and say each word slowly if necessary.

Ask your Lingua Bud to repeat a phrase if you did not understand.

Ask your Lingua Bud if you can record your conversation and listen to it later.

Set up a schedule to practice as much as possible. We suggest 10 minutes a day to begin. 5 minutes in English and 5 minutes in Spanish.

Don't worry about making mistakes or having a strong accent. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Encourage your partner to keep going and give constructive feedback. Support each other.
First Conversation in English/French (Première Conversation en Anglais/Français)
Use this conversation as a guide with your Lingua Bud:

Bonjour. Comment ça va ? - 'Hello. How are you?'

Je vais bien et toi ? - 'I'm good, and you?'

Excellent. Depuis combien de temps étudiez-vous l'anglais ? - 'Excellent. How long have you been studying English for?'

J'étudie l'anglais depuis deux ans. - 'I have been studying English for two years.'

Depuis combien de temps étudiez-vous le français ? - 'How long have you been studying French for?'

J'étudie le français depuis trois ans. - 'I have been studying French for three years.'

Très bien. Avez-vous déjà voyagé dans un pays francophone ? - 'Very good. Have you ever traveled to a French-speaking country?'

Oui. J'ai visité la France et la Belgique. - 'Yes. I have visited France and Belgium.'

Avez-vous visité un pays anglophone ? - 'Have you visited an English-speaking country?'

Je suis désolé, je n'ai pas compris. Pouvez-vous répéter cela un peu plus lentement, s'il vous plaît ? - 'I'm sorry, I did not understand. Can you repeat that a little slower, please?'

Absolument. Je n'ai encore jamais visité un pays anglophone. - 'Absolutely. I still have never visited an English-speaking country.'

Qu'aimez-vous faire pour vous amuser ? - 'What do you like to do for fun?'

J'aime jouer au beach-volley et jouer de la guitare. - 'I like to play beach volleyball and play the guitar.'

Et vous ? - 'And you?'

J'aime jouer au tennis et danser. - 'I like to play tennis and to dance.'

Fantastique ! Vous voudrais continuer à pratiquer notre langues chaque jour pendant dix minutes ? - 'Fantastic! Would you like to continue practicing our languages every day for ten minutes?'
