Tips to help you start out with your new Lingua Bud:

Follow the conversation below and say each word slowly if necessary.

Ask your Lingua Bud to repeat a phrase if you did not understand.

Ask your Lingua Bud if you can record your conversation and listen to it later.

Set up a schedule to practice as much as possible. We suggest 10 minutes a day to begin. 5 minutes in English and 5 minutes in German.

Don't worry about making mistakes or having a strong accent. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Encourage your partner to keep going and give constructive feedback. Support each other.
First Conversation in English/German (Erstes Gespräch auf Englisch/Deutsch)
Use this conversation as a guide with your Lingua Bud:

Hallo. Wie geht es dir? - 'Hello. How are you?'

Mir geht es gut, und dir? - 'I'm good, and you?'

Exzellent. Wie lange lernen Sie schon Englisch? - 'Excellent. How long have you been studying English for?'

Ich lerne seit zwei Jahren Englisch. - 'I have been studying English for two years.'

Wie lange lernen Sie schon Deutsch? - 'How long have you been studying German for?'

Ich lerne seit drei Jahren Deutsch. - 'I have been studying German for three years.'

Sehr gut. Sind Sie schon einmal in ein deutschsprachiges Land gereist? - 'Very good. Have you ever traveled to a German-speaking country?'

Ja. Ich war in Deutschland und Österreich. - 'Yes. I have been to Germany and Austria.'

Haben Sie ein englischsprachiges Land besucht? - 'Have you visited an English-speaking country?'
