Tips to help you start out with your new Lingua Bud:

Follow the conversation below and say each word slowly if necessary.

Ask your Lingua Bud to repeat a phrase if you did not understand.

Ask your Lingua Bud if you can record your conversation and listen to it later.

Set up a schedule to practice as much as possible. We suggest 10 minutes a day to begin. 5 minutes in English and 5 minutes in Portuguese.

Don't worry about making mistakes or having a strong accent. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Encourage your partner to keep going and give constructive feedback. Support each other.
First Conversation in English/Portuguese (Primeira Conversação em Inglês/Português)
Use this conversation as a guide with your Lingua Bud:

Olá. Tudo bem? - 'Hello. How are you/Everything good?'

Tudo bem, e você? - 'I'm good, and you?'

Excelente. Há quanto tempo você estuda inglês? - 'Excellent. How long have you been studying English for?'

Eu estudo inglês há dois anos. - 'I have been studying English for two years.'

Há quanto tempo você estuda português? - 'How long have you been studying Portuguese for?'

Eu estudo português há três anos. - 'I have been studying Portuguese for three years.'

Muito bom. Você já viajou para um país que fala português? - 'Very good. Have you ever traveled to a Portuguese-speaking country?'

Sim. Eu já visitei o Portugal e o Brasil. - 'Yes. I have visited Portugal and Brazil.'

Você já viajou para um país que fala inglês? - 'Have you visited an English-speaking country?'

Desculpe, não entendi. Você pode repetir isso um pouco mais devagar, por favor? - 'I'm sorry, I did not understand. Can you repeat that a little slower, please?'
