Tips to help you start out with your new Lingua Bud:

Follow the conversation below and say each word slowly if necessary.

Ask your Lingua Bud to repeat a phrase if you did not understand.

Ask your Lingua Bud if you can record your conversation and listen to it later.

Set up a schedule to practice as much as possible. We suggest 10 minutes a day to begin. 5 minutes in English and 5 minutes in Swedish.

Don't worry about making mistakes or having a strong accent. Everyone has to start somewhere!

Encourage your partner to keep going and give constructive feedback. Support each other.
First Conversation in English/Swedish (Första Samtalet på Engelska/Svenska)
Use this conversation as a guide with your Lingua Bud:

Hej. Hur mår du? - 'Hello. How are you?'

Jag mår bra, och du? - 'I'm good, and you?'

Excellent. Hur länge har du studerat engelska? - 'Excellent. How long have you been studying English for?'

Jag har studerat engelska i två år. - 'I have been studying English for two years.'

Hur länge har du studerat svenska? - 'How long have you been studying Swedish for?'

Jag började precis för en vecka sedan. - 'I just started a week ago.'

Mycket bra. Har du rest till Sverige någon gång? - 'Very good. Have you ever traveled to Sweden?'

Ja. Jag åkte till Sverige för tre år sedan. - 'Yes. I went to Sweden three years ago.'

Har du besökt ett engelsktalande land? - 'Have you visited an English-speaking country?'

Förlåt, jag förstod inte. Kan du upprepa det lite långsammare, tack? - 'I'm sorry, I did not understand. Can you repeat that a little slower, please?'

Absolut. Jag har fortfarande aldrig besökt ett engelsktalande land. - 'Absolutely. I still have never visited an English-speaking country.'
