Basic Conversation in a Restaurant (Conversation de Base dans un Restaurant)

Follow this conversation to order at a restaurant:

  • Bonjour, une table pour trois, s'il vous plaît. - 'Hello, a table for three, please.'
  • Qu'est-ce que vous voulez boire ? - 'What do you want to drink?'
  • Un verre d'eau et un café. - 'A glass of water and a coffee.'
  • Quelle est la spécialité du jour ? - 'What is the special of the day?'
  • Notre plat du jour est un poisson grillé accompagné de légumes et de pommes de terre. - 'Our special of the day is grilled fish with vegetables and potatoes.'
  • Sont-ils prêts à manger ? - 'Are you (plural) ready to order?'
  • Oui, je voudrais le poisson grillé. - 'Yes, I would like the grilled fish.'
  • Comment est la nourriture ? - 'How is the food?'
  • C'est très délicieux. - 'It is very delicious.'
  • Vous avez fini avec votre assiettes ? - 'Are you (plural) finished with your plates?'
  • Oui, nous sommes complets. - 'Yes, we are full.'
  • Avez-vous un dessert ? Il y a toujours de la place pour le dessert. - 'Do you have dessert? There is always room for dessert.'
  • Oui, nous avons de la glace au chocolat, du tiramisu et du flan. - 'Yes, we have chocolate ice cream, tiramisu, and flan.'
  • Excellent, nous voudrions le flan, s'il vous plaît. - 'Excellent, we would like the flan, please.'
  • Êtes-vous prêt pour l'addition ? - 'Are you (plural) ready for the check/bill?'
  • Oui, s'il vous plaît. - 'Yes, thank you very much.'
