How do you pronounce the ç?

The 'ç' is pronounced as an 's'. Ex: Garçon.

How do you pronounce the 'r'?

The 'r' in French is soft and at the back of the throat. Ex: Rue

Do accent marks mean you put the emphasis on that vowel?

No. The accent mark in French tells you how to pronounce the vowel. Ex: Protégé

The accent grave is meant to be pronounced more open. Ex: Mère, première

Born Curious. Built for Connection.

Growing up between Puerto Rico and various corners of the United States, I was always drawn to different cultures, languages, and the stories that connect us — and years of traveling the world only deepened that obsession. There's nothing quite like the moment a local's face lights up when you try to speak their language, even badly. That feeling? Completely addictive. In 2016, I volunteered at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and fell in love with Brazilian culture — the language, the food, the people... I learned as much as I could when I was there but when I left and tried to continue learning, the resources were scattered, lifeless, and totally disconnected from the vibrant culture I'd just lived in. That frustration became the spark. Lingua Bud was built for everyone who's ever felt that same pull — a community where language learning meets culture, connection, and genuine curiosity about the world.
